Add Anti-Inflammatory Foods to Your Diet

The three foods that follow have anti-inflammatory properties. Eating them actually helps heal your fascia.



Tart cherries (also called sour cherries and used for pies and other desserts), unlike sweet cherries, contain substances called anthocyanins, which have an anti-inflammatory effect similar to that of fish oil. If you want to eat fruit, this is a good choice. Buy these cherries dried or fresh in a good health food store or at a farmer’s market.

Extra-virgin olive oil contains the anti-inflammatory compound oleocanthal, making this oil an excellent choice for salad dressings and cooking. Be sure to use only cold-pressed, extra-virgin oil.


Avocados contain proteoglycans called aggrecans, which are building blocks of connective tissue, so eating them may help repair inflamed tissue.
